Pettit's EZ-Poxy Performance Enhancer is an additive that increases gloss, harness, and longevity of Pettit solvent-based topside paints. Its advanced formulation reacts with the paint it is mixed in to "cross-link" polymers within the paint film, providing exceptional durability, gloss-retention, scratch resistance, and longevity. Additionally, this paint accelerates dry time by up to 40% and increases hardness by up to 25%. Unlike other two-part urethanes, paints catalyzed with this hardener can be applied over well-adhered one-part finishes. With Pettit EZ-Poxy Performance Enhancer, achieving a high quality, long lasting yacht finish is easy.

Recommended for use with the following Pettit Paints: EZ-Poxy, EZ-Decks, EZ-Bilge, Captain's Varnish, Flagship Varnish, High Build Varnish, and Captain's Ultra-Clear Varnish. Do not use EZ-Poxy Performance Enhancer in epoxies, lacquers, two-part polyurethanes, or water-based paint systems.

How to Use Pettit EZ-Poxy Performance Enhancer

The substrate and air temperatures must be between 50°F and 90°F throughout the entire mixing, application, and curing process. For best results when applying multiple coats, EZ-Poxy Performance Enhancer should be added to all the layers.

• Mix Ratio: 16:1 Paint:Hardener by volume
• Application Temp: 50°F  Min / 90°F Max

Stir EZ-Poxy Performance Enhancer and paint or varnish thoroughly before mixing. EZ-Poxy Performance Enhancer should be mixed at a 16:1 ratio of paint to catalyst. The entire 8 ounce can of EZ-Poxy Performance Enhancer should be mixed with a gallon of paint. Add two ounces, or six cap-fulls of hardener per quart. 

• Paints mixed with EZ-Poxy Performance Enhancer do not require an induction time, so once mixed, application should begin immediately.
• The mixed paint can be applied by brush and/or roller. DO NOT SPRAY.

Application Tips

• For brush or roller application, the paint may be thinner 5-10% to aid in flow out and to maintain a wet edge.
• In hot weather and when using darker colors, the paint may be thinned up to 20%.
• For best results on large, smooth surfaces, roll out using a high density foam roller. Level off with the tip of a brush.
• Apply one thin coat per day. After an overnight dry, lightly sand with 320-grit sandpaper and apply a second coat.
