Refund policy

1. The 30-Day Guarantee

We want you to be confident in your outfitting. You have 30 days from the date of delivery to initiate a return for most items.

2.  Damaged, Incorrect or Lost Shipments

  • Damaged Items: If your marine gear or paint arrives damaged or leaking, please take a photo of the item and packaging, and contact us at returns@truewindmarine.com or 1-866-902-2048 within 48 hours of delivery. We will issue a prepaid return label and immediately arrange a replacement or full refund.

  • Incorrect Items: If you receive the incorrect item, color, or variant, notify us immediately. We will send you a prepaid return shipping label to return the incorrect item and expedite the shipment of your correct order at zero additional cost to you.

  • Lost Shipments: If your tracking information shows "Delivered" but you have not received your package, or if the package has stopped moving in transit for more than 5 business days, please contact our support team. We will open an investigation with the carrier and issue a full replacement or refund if the carrier deems the package lost.

3. Condition of Items

To be eligible for a full refund, items must be:

  • Unused and Uninstalled: We cannot accept returns on items that have been mounted, wired, or show signs of "mock-up" (e.g., scratches on anchor shanks or bolt marks on electronics).

  • Original Packaging: Items must be in their original, undamaged manufacturer's box with all manuals, cables, and accessories included.

  • Resalable: Please do not write on the original product box; use an outer shipping carton.

4. Non-Returnable Items

Due to safety regulations and supplier restrictions, the following items cannot be returned:

  • Hazmat Materials: Marine paints, varnishes, resins, and thinners cannot be returned once shipped.

  • Custom/Cut Goods: Any line (rope), wire, or chain cut to a specific length.

  • Software/Cartography: Opened GPS charts (SD cards) or unlocked electronic charts.

  • Life Rafts/EPIRBs: Any safety equipment that requires registration or has a limited-life battery/CO2 canister.

  • Items marked "Final Sale" are not returnable.

5. How to Start a Return

  1. Email returns@truewindmarine.com with your Order # and a photo of the item.

  2. We will issue you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number.

  3. Do not ship items back without an RMA. Items sent without authorization will be refused and returned to you at your expense.

6. Shipping & Fees

  • Shipping fees are not refundable.

  • Restocking Fees: Most returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee. This covers the fees charged by our wholesale partners to inspect and restock high-ticket marine gear.

  • Return Shipping Costs: Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrived damaged or defective.

  • Damaged Shipments: You must report shipping damage within 48 hours of receipt so we can file a claim with the carrier.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
